The ICMA is a non-profit organization whose basic purpose is to promote country, gospel and bluegrass music and country dancing in the State of Illinois. This is done by producing and sponsoring shows, events and benefits for various causes, providing information and encouragement to new and established artists and recognizing the musical achievements of country artists. The ICMA currently has approximately 500 members.

Our association also is a proud member of the North America Country Music Associations, International, (NACMAI - see "what is NACMAI link for more info) a group of 18 states and four foreign countries dedicated to country, western, gospel and bluegrass music along with country dancing.

Membership is not limited to the state of Illinois only; we have members in Missouri, Iowa, Kentucky, Indiana and a few scattered members around the U.S. Members from other states are attracted by our varied activities and our association with NACMAI. In addition to the scheduled shows, we also assist our members with various benefits, specialty shows and other events. We are just beginning to form a working partnership with a venue in Washington, Illinois, which will give us good publicity in the Peoria market. The state of Illinois has many country “Opry’s” around the state, and some of our entertainers make the rounds of the various venues. We also have working bands, dance halls, fraternal organizations, etc. who promote and keep country music alive in Illinois and surrounding states.
